Combatting dry skin during seasonal changes
The lack of moisture during cold winter months causes increasingly dry skin. The most obvious tip? Find products with hydrating and moisturizing ingredients: emollients, humectants, and occlusives. Emollients aim to smooth and lubricate the outermost layer of our skin, such as ceramides and silicones. These work alongside humectants, such as hyaluronic acid and honey, which absorb water into our skin to decrease dryness. Lastly, occlusives prevent moisture loss in the skin while supporting skin barriers, and are found in waxes and oils. These three ingredients are crucial to protecting your skin from dryness in the coming months.
