Nike X Tiffany & Co. Announce Collaboration
Last week, Nike and Tiffany & Co. announced their unexpected sneaker collaboration via Instagram. The partnership features a classic all-black Air Force 1 with a Tiffany-blue-colored Nike “swoosh” that will sell for $400. While this collaboration is undeniably legendary, both companies are facing backlash regarding the unimpressive look of the shoe and an overall lack of inspiration. Paris Fashion Week Highlights
This year’s Paris Fashion Week spawned some iconic runway shows that have marked their territory in fashion history. Here are our personal favorites.
Schiaparelli’s collection attracted a mainstream audience with pieces that featured hyper-realistic animal heads. Kylie Jenner’s authentic looking lion’s-head gown sparked speculation into whether the designs included real taxidermy. The brand, however, assured viewers that no animals were harmed in the making of these looks.
The internet was quickly enthralled by Viktor & Rolf’s satirical take on traditional ball gowns. The collection, inspired by late-stage capitalism, played with distorted angles and orientations and lent itself nicely to a viral fashion moment.
Tiffany & Co. Acquires Rare Pink Diamond
Several months ago, Tiffany & Co. finalized an exciting deal with the Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia that gave the company ownership of 35 rare pink diamonds. Tiffany’s President Anthony Ledru shared that these singular gems will be featured in one-0f-a-kind designs and are being displayed to exclusive clients around the world. This purchase is an impressive move that will elevate the Tiffany brand to a new level in the luxury industry.
(Di)vision F23 “Dressed for Disaster”
At Copenhagen fashion week, a model closed the (Di)vision “Dressed for Disaster” show by dragging a tablecloth topped with food along with her dress. The shock value of the avant garde event caused the video to go viral. The show featured a variety of looks, ranging from grungy to preppy, but the finale undoubtedly brought the wow-factor. Hypebeast stated: “The final look set (Di)vision apart from the rest as a guest rose from her seat…she strolled through the venue, the tablecloth would come with her — converting into a dress that tossed platters, glasses, French fries, and oysters across the lively setting.
