Bivouac Celebrates 51 Years of Styling Ann Arbor
For over half a century, Bivouac has been an essential Ann Arbor shopping destination, offering students and locals a wide selection of pieces spanning independent designers and popular brand names. In 1970, Ed Davidson founded Bivouac during his senior year at the University of Iowa. One year later, Davidson moved to Ann Arbor and opened the store that has since become quintessential to our city.
You may be wondering, what does Bivouac mean? By definition, it means temporary campsite, but to Ann Arbor, it means so much more.
Located in Nickels Arcade, a beautiful alley that is home to some of Ann Arbor’s most unique local businesses, Bivouac offers a special supply of men’s and women’s clothing and gear. It offers popular brands like Aviator Nation, Free City, Moussy Denim, Boys Lie, and Faherty, as well as an array of smaller, independent brands. Whether you are looking for a new pair of snow boots, hiking gear, or even a dress for the MFMS Thursday Night Launch Party, Bivouac has everything you need.
