Eden Meidl

I am an excited and passionate artist and fashion designer currently in my fifth year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I am pursuing a degree in Fashion Design. The building blocks of my creative process lay within the foundations of Fine Arts, as I’ve completed 3.5 years of my early undergraduate career pursuing a BFA. My work encompasses the feeling of artistic expression while rendering a high level of technical skill in design thinking and construction.

I am the Executive Editor of The Issue, a student-run organization focused on fashion, lifestyle, current affairs, and creative innovation. In 2024, I was selected as a Fellow for the Center of Design and Material Culture-Chipstone Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. I conducted practice-based research surrounding the study of historical garment structure and silhouettes. Currently, I am working in collaboration with the Wisconsin Historical Society on an in-depth analytical and practice-based study investigating the construction of archived historical garments and accessories.
My self-named brand EDEN is reflective of my design philosophy and values as it’s inspired by genderless design, curiosity and the future. I am heavily inspired by minimalistic presentations with complex constructions, reflecting my belief that visual simplicity is a powerful form of expression. Upon graduation, I plan to continue my higher education in Fashion Design in New York or abroad, further nurturing my connections and opportunities within the fashion industry.
